The Observatory has produced a research project that focuses on the abuse of women migrant domestic workers (WMDW). Abuse against WMDW is a serious public health concern in the Middle East. Previous studies have been previously carried out that explore the different forms of abuse as perceived by WMDW, however, this study is the first that describes abuse of WMDW as perceived by recruitment agency managers, in violation to the ILO Convention No. 189.

This project, titled “Justifying abuse of women migrant domestic workers in Lebanon: the opinion of recruitment agencies”, has been published in the journal “Gaceta Sanitaria”.
